Amy Loughney Hajjar qualifies for sixth consecutive U.S. Women’s Mid-Amateur Championship

LOWER MACUNGIE TOWNSHIP, PA — Amy Loughney Hajjar, a Lower Macungie Township native, successfully qualified Tuesday, August 21 for the 32nd U.S. Women’s Mid-Amateur Championship.
Hajjar, a former Allentown Central Catholic (’04) and Bucknell University (’08) golfer, shot 1-under-par 71 at her home course Brookside Country Club to earn medalist honors. Three golfers in the 10-player field successfully qualified.
Hajjar advanced to the championship, to be played September 22-27 at Norwood Hills Country Club in St Louis, Missouri.
Hajjar 32, will be making her sixth consecutive trip to the U.S. Women’s Mid-Amateur event. She advanced to the round of 32 in match play competition in 2013, and the round of 64 match play field in 2014, 2015, and 2016 respectively. She also qualified for the 2006 U.S. Women’s Amateur.
Hajjar, the 2014 Lehigh Valley Women’s Amateur Stroke Play champion, has won eight Brookside Country Club women’s club titles. She was the 2003 District 11 girls champion. Hajjar works as a vice president of Goldman Sachs operations department, and resides in Jersey City, NJ.
