Nine amateur golfers advance in 2016 Lehigh Valley Open qualifying

BETHLEHEM — Four Amateur Division golfers shared medalist honors Sunday in the 2016 Lehigh Valley Open – Amateur Qualifying Tournament at the Bethlehem Golf Club.
Temple University junior Evan Notaro of Moore Township, Steve Gonzales of Bangor, Nick Lukow of Whitehall Township, and Riley Hogan of Saylorsburg each shot 4-over-par 75 in windy conditions.
Two golfers earned medalist honors in the Senior Amateur Division: James Buburka of Bethlehem (75) and Dylan Spadt of Hanover Township (75).
Overall, six amateurs and three senior amateurs advanced to compete in the 2016 Lehigh Valley Open, to be played July 25-26 at Northampton Country Club.

Amateur qualifiers (six): Riley Hogan 75, Evan Notaro 75, Nick Lukow 75, Steve Gonzales 75, Jim Maru 76, Jason Wilson 76.
Amateur alternates (five): 1. Dan Joseph, 2. Adam DeRaymond, 3. J.T. Barker, 4. Tyler Smith, 5. Kevin Kunkle.
Senior Amateur qualifiers (three): James Buburka 75, Dylan Spadt 75, Andy Lykon 77.
Senior Amateur alternates (three): 1. Joe Jasinski, 2. Joe Zelechoski, 3. Joe Coulson.
Remaining 2016 tournament winners who will earn an exemption for the 2016 Lehigh Valley Open: winners of the 26th Lehigh Valley Medal Play Championship, June 17-18; 21st Lehigh Valley Mid-Amateur Championship, July 8; 61st Bethlehem Golf Club Amateur Stroke Play Championship, July 9-10; Lehigh Valley Open Junior Qualifying Tournament, July 11.
