Tom Lusto birdies first sudden-death playoff hole to lift Lusto and Orcutt to victory in the 24th annual Lehigh Valley Regular-Senior Better Ball of Partners Championship

BETHLEHEM TWP. — Ryan Orcutt of Bethlehem and Tom Lusto of Chestnuthill Township rode a tap-in birdie on the first sudden-death playoff hole by Lusto to win the 24th annual Lehigh Valley Regular-Senior Better Ball of Partners Championship on Sunday at Green Pond Country Club.
Orcutt, 40, and Lusto, 66, ended 18 holes of regulation play tied with Brandon Sluzalis & Tom Formando at 3-under-par 68.
On the playoff hole, the par-4 10th hole, Lusto lipped out a 107-yard wedge approach shot. He tapped in a one-foot birdie putt for the victory.
Orcutt, a former Freedom High School golfer (1996), teamed with Jeff Hudson to win the event last year. Orcutt combined with former Freedom golf teammate Ryan Hally to win the 2017 Donald Ross Invitational at Silver Creek Country Club.
Lusto combined with Lonnie Pintande to win the tournament in 2003 and 2008. Lusto won the 2002 and 2003 Lehigh Valley Senior Amateur Medal Play Championship.
